Nickel

All our jewellery, yes all jewelery sold in Sweden and the EU must be nickel tested and have passed the EU limit values. The same applies to levels of lead, cadmium, etc. The rules have existed within the EU since 2000 and they were tightened in 2005. They cover products that come into direct and long-term contact with the skin. We therefore only sell jewelery that has passed the tests.

Silver jewelry

• Pure silver is a relatively soft material and is often combined with other metals. Therefore, the covering is 925 sterling silver, as 92.5% is genuine silver and the remaining 6.5% usually consists of copper. Silver jewelry does not need to have a name or a control stamp.

• Genuine silver jewelry is relatively soft and should not be used during training and physical work. In sockets and edges, any dirt can collect, but it is easily cleaned with a soft toothbrush and a little washing-up liquid. If the jewelery has become dull or darkened, simply polish it with a silver polishing cloth.

Gold plated jewelry

• When a piece of jewelry has a gold plating, it means that the piece of jewelry has a coating of gold. We have jewelry that is gold plated with 18K or 24K gold. The core of the jewelery is either made of silver, various metal alloys or steel. The piece of jewelery has the same appearance as a piece of gold jewellery, but of course gets a lower price.

• Jewelery with a plating or gilding should be treated with care and the plating can wear down over time. It is important to avoid contact with water, chemicals such as perfume, skin cream and hairspray, which can discolour the jewellery. Wait until you are completely dry before putting on the jewelry after showering and bathing. The best way to store the jewelry when you are not using it is in a small plastic bag so it is not exposed to air or moisture.

Silver plated jewelry
